Science had little to do with the failure of the anti-Global Warming movement. It's just an example of how bad marketing can be worse than no marketing. They've hit two home runs since the beginning of the movement, "greenhouse gasses" and the "green" trend. Apart from that, it's an incoherent jumble of wishful thinking.

A single sentence from Obama's State of the Union address did more to sell green energy than anything else I've seen in the past decade:

"But here's the thing -- even if you doubt the evidence, providing incentives for energy-efficiency and clean energy are the right thing to do for our future -- because the nation that leads the clean energy economy will be the nation that leads the global economy."

This gives a path to the future: combining American Exceptionalism and Green Energy into the same thought
