I don't agree with all of his philosophy (I think I am ethically fine to sell software in many scenarios), on the point of being shut out by a company, just because they say so, he's right.
At the very least, if you're going to stop supporting your product, you should free your source code so that others can support it themselves if they choose to.
The risks involved in this precedent are obvious, and for me it means I won't be buying any hardware with Google tech in the middle of it until they change this policy. I will need to critically evaluate all future purchases as well, same terms.
