There's also the fact that previously, a Canadian official leaked to the press that Trudeau will not meet the chief minister of Gujarat who took a hard line against the separatist support, after the chief minister had said he was “looking forward to have meaningful talks with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau”[1]. That Trudeau will visit the state and the major Sikh temple in it, but not meet the CM of the state (right now there seem to be conflicting reports, but most sources say the meeting is going to happen tomorrow.)
I'd be interested in knowing what Canadians think about the issue, because it seems Trudeau has a sort of mixed reputation in the country, so it'd be interesting to know if people there think he might be unofficially providing support to the Khalistan/separatist movements, for the sake of establishing his Sikh voter base (which is what some media reports claim).
