I signed up for Showtime solely to watch Sacha Baron Cohen and will promptly cancel once his show is it.

I'm wondering - how many people did the same? Why would he just launch on Patreon?

I am about to do the same, but it isn't entirely because of Who is America

I've gotten into the habit of hopping from service to service. Now that Westworld and Silicon Valley are done for HBO for a bit, I'll hop over to Showtime for a few months.

Similarly, when the new Stranger Things season comes out, I'll hop back to Netflix for a bit and watch that and whatever other content I come across during that time period.

This makes no sense as the joke needs to be obscured from the media. The moment this would have been announced would have caused too much attention to pull it off. Not all things can be easily crowdfunded especially the kind of satire that reflects humanity in real time.
