1. Even if your not at risk, your odd's aren't 0.
2. You may care about somebody that is at risk. One family lost four people to the virus.
3. If the hospitals surge you could have an accident or need medical care and they won't be able to help you.
4. Dead people don't buy stuff.
5. What if you or someone you care about is one of the 2-8% that needs a oxygen and/or ventilator and their aren't any because we surged the hospitals.
The fatality rate grows beyond 2% when hospitals get overwhelmed with patients and turn them away.
The unique characteristics of this virus mean that it's very easily transmitted and often needs intense treatment.
Throwing around the idea of killing 2% (or more) of our entire population in the span of a year by letting 100% of them get infected by a virus we just discovered just so that we can continue going shopping or whatever stupid shit we were going to do is something a psychopath would suggest.
But this blogger doesn't seem to be the type to take advice anyway, so why should I waste my breath.
