Now directly after sending that voice message on whatsapp my android's screen went blank twice in quick succession almost as though something was being loaded onto the machine...

Look I'm all for governments going out and catching paedophiles and yes I realised I could have hit some key words which could have triggered something but I thought whatsapp had e2e encryption.
