In my opinion, a "mind map" should only be created to represent ideas that aren't just hierarchical. i.e. ideas that reference each other and might go in circles and have several branches. e.g. https://wi-images.condecdn.net/image/zGEPg6z8l03/crop/1620/f...

For which the original poster's software isn't good enough. Otherwise we would just use a text outline.
