Ask HN: Visa Required on Work at a Startup?

What does it mean when a job posting on the Work at a Startup says Visa Required? Does it mean that the applicant needs a visa to be considered? Or am I reading it wrong.

For context, I'm a recent bootcamp grad and am interested in working at startups but I'm currently on an H1-B visa.

My apologies if this isn't obvious as English is not my first language.

I would go ahead and apply anyway. The problem is many small companies don't want to sponsor visas. You'll never know unless you try though. Bigger companies tend to be much more open to this though.

Your English is fine by the way, the great thing about this language is it's fairly flexible. Unless someone just wants to be mean they're not going to pick apart your grammar.
