The hardest part has been adapting to mobile dev (extensive user interviews suggested a web app would not fly). We started with a Typescript/Vue.js/Cordova/Serverless (Dynamo, Lambda) stack before running into performance issues and dissatisfaction with the layers of abstraction.
The current stack is Flutter (we're still getting our heads round the file structure), Java Spring, RDS and GetStream for chat. Apple and Google review processes have been fine.
Overall, mobile dev feels very far away from web, particularly if you need to make a hotfix and have to submit the build back to review each team. Build times are pretty long too, but BitRise has been a great CD tool.
