I often face the challenge of not being motivated to spend time socializing at meetups and online groups (yes I am a bit lazy when it comes to socializing) which results in me not being well connected with other people where I live that I actually really want to know. I really love the idea, and I think your implementation UX of "Earth to State to City" navigation at the top left is interesting. Great work!

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to really give the feeling of "exploring", while building it I had the concept of walking around a city and bumping into people in various locations in my head.
