It’s a trivial name change, stay mad.
Tell that to a decade of tooling, training and documentation.
I don't necessarily have a problem with the change, but I wish people would quit telling me it's nothing.
It's not the end of the world or anything, but next time someone who's trying to coast by with the least git knowledge possible (90% of the office) needs help because of this, or is just frustrated that there's another complication they have to remember should I tell them it's "a trivial name change"? I might as well say "it's just a directed acyclic graph of revisions." That's also technically true, but I might as well tell them to go fuck themselves. [1]
