Ask HN: What are the Android apps you can't live without? I've just jumped ship to Android, got a S22+. I'm not much of an app person, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Would be great to know the hidden gems you've came across. |

Nokia's Z Launcher. 2 main features. Showing frequently used app & just [scribble the name of the app to open it](https://i.imgur.com/PNCx5qB.jpg) or a contact.
Sadly Nokia ditched it & no one else seems to have that 2 features.

Non FOSS: Firefox
Also the Dev answers everything promptly on a dedicated subreddit for it and releases updates constantly.
1.1.1.1 is a pretty decent alternative if you want something easier to set up.
From Fdroid:
- K9mail
- Mullvad
- Etar + DavX

Do you manage your own server for DavX?
For me personally my list is:
Firefox - with add-ons, I tend to access as many services through the browser rather than via apps.
Feeder - RSS reader
AntennaPod - podcasts
