The first question is, why did you receive negative karma? In your case, it seems like you mean well, but your karma is telling you that HN is interested in original feedback, not regurgitated content.

Also, ask yourself why you want good karma in this context. Perhaps the answer lies therein. The fact that you desire karma might be related to the reason why you don't have any.

If you are truly looking to be helpful and boost your karma, just try to be a good community member. Provide archive.is links for stories that are behind paywalls. Study the guidelines and follow them to the letter. Try to ask good questions and put some effort into adequately researching. If you post or comment something of low value, delete it.

Hahaha, looking at the other answers and your profile, I now realise that you were asking about HN karma rather than the spiritual kind (it did seem a bit of an odd question for HN). For the former, as others have said: original and interesting content.
