It's so annoying reading blogs that use "Luddite" in the purely pejorative usage when this is forum of people who stroke their egos with how much smarter they are than redditors. The concern was that the looms would be used by owners of capital to pay their workers less and hoard more wealth, and they were right.

The author also loves calling the predictions of the doomsayers "unfalsifiable", and also loves ignoring the fact that the claim he makes that those claims are unfalsifiable is itself unfalsifiable.

It's pretty clear given that he devotes exactly one paragraph to truly negative developments of technology that he just isn't interested in hearing concerns.
