It has been something like 20 years since I read it, but the Gates book from the 90s on the future of computing was, as I recall, wrong about nearly everything.
Yes, "The Road Ahead" (IIRC), First Edition, had nothing at all about the Internet even though the Internet was already in existence and had been for at least 10-15 years.
I'll give Gates kudos though. When he realised that Windows 95 could be a disaster in the Internet age, he brought MSFT up to speed with the Internet in a very short six months or so.
