I get it that it's an economic choice companies make, but things like chatgpt level the playing field for candidates who are expected to jump through hoops without any reciprocity from the hiring company.
Personally I wouldn't hire anyone who I found was cheating in an interview, but I would also never consider interviewing at a place that make me do an automated test.
