This thing is not good for general. Maybe it is good for your personal purposes. But optimal means very different things for everyone. For most people these scripts will make random configuration changes.

This introduces problems ("Set the server TimeZone to Asia/Tehran") and possible security trouble (opens a number of ports in the firewall).

That's just voodoo security. Those ports are usable only by root. Anyone who can use them also can insert firewall rules.
