Perhaps it's more accurate to say that he took good ideas in a bad direction and we should always be wary of whether we are doing the same.
If you can't see the real tangible benefits technolgy provides to humans, then you have been living too good for too long and have taken everything around you for granted.
Run into the woods naked and see how long you last and how good it feels. Not long, and not good.
I do not believe he ran around nude. He had neighbors not far away from his cabin. It gets too cold for that there anyway.
Ted was exposed to tech and humans for quite some time. After the drug and psychological experiments on him at Harvard it is not surprising he would want to get away from that and also not at all surprising that his responses and reactions would be a bit extreme. I am not justifying it, rather I think it's just expected. I could envision the head of the mkultra project closing the ticket [Not a bug][Working as designed]
Unless you live like a savage, there will always be this issue of how technology hurts humans.
This is why the story of Adam and Eve exists. It is an allegory on this very topic. Humans are cursed with self awareness and it is what drives us to make everything around us better. We strive to improve on what God created, and that is the original sin for which we will forever be paying for.
I think Kelly agrees with this point. Kaczynski being "right" is really scoped to the argument that technology is a self-perpetuating machine that is not entirely within human control to direct.
