Hi HN, Today we're unveiling Retinello, a learning platform that leverages AI to personalize education and break down the barriers of entry for learners. Unlike traditional learning platforms, Retinello empowers users to create their own learning materials in the form of flashcards, from texts, subjects, or even uploaded files (like entire textbooks). Retinello stands out by utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) in a unique way. Users can upload up to 20 pages (currently, increasing soon!) of their own context, reducing the model's chances of producing incorrect or irrelevant answers. This approach makes it more suited for studying niche subjects and offers a personalized touch to learning. For example, a query on a specific law governing coastal management in Portugal can be answered by Retinello using the context provided by the user. The system would deliver a concise explanation based on the uploaded documents, unlike traditional LLMs that might generalize or misinform. Here's what else you can find on Retinello: - Spaced Repetition System: Reinforce learning through proven memorization techniques. - Interactive Learning: Engage in chats with your books and flashcards, ask questions, receive feedback, and create new flashcards from chat messages through active recall. - Collaboration Tools: Share your decks and groups with classmates for collective learning. This all started as a school project I, Daniel, started working on in March but is now a start-up that we’re building (Daniel & Gustav). We're proud of what we've built so far, especially the way we've utilized AI to create a responsive and adaptable learning environment. We know there's still much to do, and your feedback would be invaluable as we continue to grow and refine the platform. Check it out at retinello.com, and please let us know what you think. |
