I'm not sure if the author meant to sign off with that, or if they understand what they're saying. "Ends justify the means" aka consequentialism is a really terrifying way to run a government. Some countries in dangerous parts of the world effectively curb terrorism by racially profiling the hell out of the populace. They experience less death and suffering than otherwise, but at what cost?

The government in America could certainly use more outcome-oriented thinking, but I'm not sure if we should jump into an AI-run government solely because outcomes would be better. The Constitution talks about a government "of the people", which is why non-citizens can't be elected to power. What is AI then at that point? Should it be elevated to citizen status just because it's able to raise money and pass some sort of freak politician Turing Test?
