Hi HN! I just built a little GPT4 powered app called Detour - an app to play horror/suspense "chat stories". In a traditional chat story, you just tap through and read messages - but in Detour, we allow you to change a message, and an AI generates a whole new ending for a story.

You can also "continue" a story once you've reached the end, so in a sense this is a never ending story ;)

You can also see other people's endings created in the app (just tap on a message).

I think its really interesting to see LLM's play a role in the creative process. We believe a chat story is a good use case for this because it's essentially a script, which serves as the starting point for any movie or TV production. As AI generation tools get better every day, we think this can go in a lot of cool directions.

There's lots of work to do still but it's halloween so I thought I'd just share it.
