But, still it's a good trend, bikes, mopeds, tuk-tuks, food trucks, busses, trains, cars, trucks, excavation equipment etc. they're all going electric and it's a good thing for local pollution and health, climate change and general societal progress. More people and things moving more cheaply.
Big cities in which a large (and increasing) % of the world's population lives.
But obviously the local climate is a factor. Few people would enjoy pushing through the snow on a 2-wheeler. In mild climates, very different story.
Anyway, good to see this making a dent in global oil demand. Iirc China already passed its peak oil due to the rising popularity of EVs there. But still:
"Global oil demand is now projected to peak in 2028 at 105.7 million barrels per day – and then begin to fall, according to the International Energy Agency."
