Anyone who travels that distance on a single charge will be living in a continental scale country, which will likely still have inadequate charging infrastructure. This is not to say EV's are not the way forward, only that bigger batteries are no substitute for comprehensive national infrastructure plan to put charging ports everywhere (ideally on the roads themselves)
So they really are trying to make the experience better. And to be fair, Tesla is also working on this to a lesser extent in the US.
