Getting traffic from reddit is definitely effective. Getting traffic that converts into customers is more of a challenge.

Seems like every rando on reddit will follow a link, but few of them will actually engage with your product. So unless your goal is actually a chart showing a lot of visitors, I've found that less traffic from better sources is a better strategy.

true, I still need to figure that out since I just started reddit marketing. But also I think if you do it on the right subreddits then the traffic should be of a good quality. What other sources have you used?

I am sorry to report that Facebook gives me the best conversions. I really wish it weren't true, but it is.

To be clear, engaging with people directly in groups and talking about what I do is more effective than ads. All marketing goes over better when you are a part of a community vs. projecting ads in front of people.

Our small team of 3 prepared for 3 weeks to launch on ProductHunt and the result was not as good as we expected honestly... Obviously we were happy to get number 1, but we only got around 1k site visitors. The only good thing is, 1st place is good for credibility and to attract investors.

Anyway, a week after the launch I decided to post on Reddit our strategy on how we got 1st place on ProductHunt and to my surprise that post itself brough 1.2k site visitors and it took me only 30 minutes to write...

In other words, if you want to get 1st place on PH, just think again whether you really need it, cause you need to spend lots of time and energy to get it.
