I hope Garry gets the help he needs.
The same party has been in charge of SF for decades, yet they are not to be blamed? Why are people so extremely partisan? I wish there were more than two parties, but unfortunately if one of them isn't working for a city, you only have one other option, and so far it seems politicians have succeeded at demonizing the other side and so people can't fathom voting for the other side even though that is the only way to bring real accountability at that level.
I hope this is all nonsense and SF will recover, however my own personal experiences tells me I need to be far away from that city and never go back. My personal conclusion is also that the leadership of SF is doing this for political reasons, and somehow people are still defending them instead of trying to hold politicians accountable by taking their power away.
That's the crux of it. If we want a government "by the people, for the people" we have to be active, informed participants. Tuning out for too long has led us here (partly anyhow)
