Russia is a much larger economy than Ukraine, they got insanely huge reserves of gas and oil.
They produce ammunition and can throw millions of untrained main in the meat grinder.
Ukraine alone will lose. Ukraine only wins if NATO joins the fight with the intensity that Russia is.
But NATO can’t because Ukraine isn’t part of NATO and we are afraid of a nuclear war.
The peace since 1950 has left European countries with an underfunded military.
If Russia were to directly go to war with US, it would get their ass handed to them in a few weeks.
Ukraine has no formal treaties with US or NATO.
It has treaties with Russia that in return of nuclear weapons, their borders will be respected. But Putin doesn’t care about treaties.
This is why a lot of Americans don’t support the war.
They do support cutting all ties with Russia and isolating them.
The only way Russia feels the pain is if Ukraine damages their military and energy infrastructure, like Russia has done to Ukraine.
