With a few honourable exceptions, the CGI effects tend to age pretty bad, ruin movies over time.

Lets say, The Last Starfighter (1984's CGI) versus: Startrek III (1984), 2010 The Year We Make Contact (1984) and so on, even Buckaroo Banzai (1984) is watchable.

With the current popcorn CGI being used today, the same thing will happen.
