US economy up 40% since 2020? What has got all of the big tech companies so spooked? Why all these layoffs?
My 401k isn't up 40%. My salary isn't up 40%. How is it even possible that the very people who are hoovering-up all this money the same people who are totally freaked out?
These numbers aren't adjusted for inflation. "Soared $8 trillion" lol. At least some of that was printed. This article then claims inflation is a sign of a booming economy. Higher numbers go vrrrrrrooommmm. I'd really like to see a focus on economic outputs. There are too many layers in the GDP maze.
But....even with inflation, my neither my 401k nor my salary are up 40%. But somebody is up 40%. More than 40%, because the rest of us didn't get anything.
