I never really got into Twitter.

On the one hand I feel like it's an enormous echo-chamber of re-tweets and mundane status updates.

On the other hand I feel like you can gather a lot of useful information in a compact way. It also seems to be a low-barrier way to connect with a lot of other people in your field, which might come in handy one day career-wise.
