As we drift inexorably toward the singularity all markets consolidate, all software companies are aquired or merge becoming vertically integrated monopolies. The final, penultimate everything-system will be simultaneously the largest company ever, the largest software ecosystem ever, and by definition the most valulable and simultaneously also the most vulnerable.
