Hello HN. Been in Chicago a few years now.

Looking to connect with other technology folks in the area.

I realize it's not SF, but I'm sure there has to be a community here.

Anyone part of any or have recommendations?

I've tried thotcon and the community was great, but I'm looking for more web development / python / javascript communities as I'm not in the dev sec ops space.

I've looked at hackerspaces like pumping station one too, but that seems hardware / physical objects focused and not much software.

I know 1871 exists, but haven't gone yet, not sure if it's worth checking out.
