I don't agree with the article's assertion that the gunman was camera savvy. While he wore a hood which meant a video feed in a nearby Starbucks only got a partial image of his face, adding a baseball cap and horn-rimmed glasses would have easily obscured even more from both cameras and nearby witnesses, with no apparent downsides. More obviously, going into a nearby Starbucks shortly before committing the crime and engaging directly with the worker at the counter so much she specifically remembers the conversation was extremely reckless and seemingly unnecessary.
Like most criminals, this man was neither smart nor disciplined and that will, fortunately, probably lead to his capture.
