Last week we learned a basic overview of Type Confusion vulnerabilities and exploited one against the Windows 7 Kernel. This week we will be exploiting the same vulnerability against a more modern build of Windows - Windows 11 (x64)!

Out of all the vulnerabilities you can learn from HEVD this one took me by far the longest amount of time. It’s one of those moments you recognize you’re standing on the shoulders of giants. This exploit took me about a month to fully understand and from my understanding I am not alone. Would it not had been for the work of researchers like Alexa Souza (@w4fz5uck5) and Martin Mielke (@xct_de) this would have taken me months to accomplish.
