We are thinking about filing a patent for one of our startups. Just wondering if anyone has experience with it and can share with us the Do's and Don'ts about filing one?

Also would be good to know about the average cost of filing one. And what stage is good to file a patent (i.e before launch, after launch, after some traction etc)?
