Something about CS or being a developer really seems to brain poison a lot of people. The "I understand and am good at this one complex thing (computer programming) therefor I'm naturally able to just pick up any other thing better than anyone else" attitude is rampant, maybe it's just being in the space and the money these people have just amplifies their voice that much more above others but it's really common and pernicious.

Construction workers built the modern world, why shouldn't they run it?

There's a big difference between being good at building something and being good at leading people.

The best leaders I've known or read about aren't the ones who go around talking about how great they are. They're the ones who listen more than they talk. They're the ones who understand that different people need different things.

The future won't be built by any one group claiming they know best. It'll be built by all of us, both in and out of Silicon Valley, working together, each contributing what we do best while respecting what others bring to the table.

I don't think these guys understand how short their political runway is.
