It really seems like some version of Russia's 'Foundations of Geopolitics' playbook is being pitched to this administration, likely Russia telling Trump that if the US gives Europe to Russia then the US can take Canada and Greenland or some other fart-huffing pipe dream.
Europe GDP >>>> Russia GDP. When you combine EU armies, you get an airforce larger and more modern than Russia, same for troops. We also got nukes. If a war between Europe (including UK here) and Russia erupts, Russia would loose pretty quickly. That would take some leadership and united front from Europe, but in case of a war, I don't doubt it would happen.
