One additional piece of advice I'd offer (maybe you agree) is that feeding your passions can be done more effectively in lean organizations. Larger organizations usually have more resources, but they also tend to operate with less speed and contain a workforce where each individual has less agency. The lack of agency affects not only employees at the bottom, but also management across the org, which can complicate the search for the right stakeholders.
I've heard this a lot from my peers. They tend to feel less valuable(and at times, replaceable) in large organisations. Fortunately, for me, I've always been part of lean orgs, and hope to continue doing so in the future as well. Lean orgs value your contributions a lot.
