Curiosity cannot survive neutrality towards authoritarianism.
On that conundrum, they are all quite, silent not just here, but even in the twittereums
Meanwhile "founders" (and even some "hands-on VCs") are "universal-hammering" the proverbial "every-nail" (mostly thru actions permitted in "founder-mode")
*There isn't one, imho, consider the legendary "self-anti-prig" not quite considered by PG himself (but sw like a Majorana).. .99pct of folks are just upset about not being rich/powerful xor being merely rich/powerful. The guy who has ikigAI commenteth not.
Ps: also note that in principle (at least) ideologues can hide behind "curiosity"
Eg. "Mono"curiosity and "infinito"-curiosity are great (for the vencap/exec-class ideologues of said curiosities), but...
P-p-s: to be a bit crass but anti-memetic: dont just fuck around and find out
You are a person who believes that truth is a consequence of reason. You are talking about people who think "truth" is a consequence of power.
The core axiom of your reality is incompatible with the core axiom of their reality. That's why they don't care about contradictions or hypocrisy, that stuff doesn't matter. What matters is how you act when you assess those things. If you point out the contradiction but don't do anything about it, then you might be right, but you are also weak. Your assessment has little effect on physical reality when actions don't follow. They understand that their actions on physical reality are molding it and point out that reason matters little when compared with power. To them power is truth, words are said to achieve outcomes, not mutual understanding.
When they do something obviously hypocritical, but you do nothing, they aren't using their words to "speak truth," they are using the reality of the situation to express the truth they want to be heard: You have no power.
