People are tired of paying for software and being treated like garbage. This already happened on the server side years ago - nihilists won and AT&T/HP lost most of their software market share as a result. It's only natural for platforms like YouTube and Twitter to decline in relevance as they try extracting more profit from a shrinking userbase. If people didn't criticize the greed of these businesses, they would be braindead.
I'm not an advocate of Marxism myself, but I don't really see the sentiment escalating unless you try to conflate it with other politics or portray it as a dialectical villain of the software market.
