Why? I totally get not wanting to subsidize it using taxpayer money, not wanting to abandon any other existing or planned infrastructure in favor of it etc., but what do citizens gain by not having legal access to backup infrastructure? It doesn't seem like OneWeb is a viable alternative at this point, so banning the only existing solution seems like a bad idea.
You could also ask the people of Saint Helena or the Falkland Islands how they like their respective government bans.
