When you manage a team, the team's successes and productivity are a reflection of your leadership skills. Your role becomes rather meta.

In my experience, pushing back against unwarranted scope creep can be draining but very necessary.

Sometimes your greatest contribution is ordering in pizzas for the team and handing out long necks (of beer).
