Cool article, it could include references to DAWs and modular synth emulations though when presenting what it calls "node-based" editing.

Look at the the UIs for Reaktor, or more recently Bitwig, for example.

I've only got to know this paradigm from audio DSP and emulations of modular synth racks, not visual DSP. Can't imagine I'm the only one.

Also, the title to me has too much confusion potential with Node.js, but that's not a big deal (and maybe intentional).
