Traditional Marketing is Dead. What's Next? The effectiveness of traditional marketing is dead or at least dying fast. Traditional marketing such as direct mail, print ads, broadcast and the like are forced, expensive, and the results are often difficult to track. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last ten years, you know that a significant percentage of people are spending more time on the internet and mobile devices than any other source of media, so a shift to online marketing makes sense.<p>If traditional marketing is dying fast, online marketing is dying slow. When compared to traditional forms, online marketing has enabled one-to-one customized approaches, the ability to appeal to specific interests and niches, and the results are more accurate and easy to track (hence the “slow”). Though online marketing is now more effective than traditional marketing, it has its own problems. Many online marketing techniques still may come off as forced, lack engagement, or are down right creepy.
