Gemini is winning at getting the most customers who not only don't want to pay, but would rather not even see the condescending LLM response, telling them they made a typo or that what they're searching for must not exist, because it wasn't in the training data.
I think there is a bit of positioning too. I think Claude positioned as enterprise while chatgpt as consumer. Enterprise costumers pay, consumers maybe, there is more churn, personal taste etc it is way more complicated to win in the consumer space.
