Consulting is hard. At a junior level you can teach people to interact with clients how you want. When you hire a senior person you want their advanced skills. Locking your employees in to a particular path for client interactions is dumb. Getting project specs over email one sentence at a time with 24hr delay is double dumb. If the customer can’t articulate what they want, a meeting is way faster. A demo of a working example (already written) is quite reasonable. “Ok like that only different in these five ways”

Count yourself lucky that you don’t work with people who obviously don’t jive with you.
