Then the feds grab the evidence to make sure the investigation has as little to go on as humanly possible.
Now this.
The information lockdown continues apace.
It's also obvious to anyone who has seen the recordings. Which is why ICE is so hell-bent on stopping recordings.

If only 8 people have been deported so far that would mean American children would make up half of your list. Just in 2025 50,000 people were deported to Guatemala alone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNICf0Nd3BM)
People aren't ignoring all of the things they have been up to. They're keeping track, regardless of the data that the government puts out.
Still, the administration thinks people will just forget. In their minds, it will all simmer down, and since they now control the government, they can avoid consequences from voters and from the courts.
The problem is, history shows that there are worse things for those who abuse human rights than losing elections or facing trial. It would be better for them - and the country - if they kept the data open, disciplined the officers who can't abide by basic professional standards, and re-evaluated their approach.
All the protests to date are still quite far away from the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3.5%25_rule
The administration seems to be focused on removing these junctures.
Every time the chain of evil is allowed to persist it corrupts a widening tranche of people and the inertia for compromise just increases until sudden system collapse.
It's just normal error propagation in the network. Only taking ethics and morality seriously at the grass roots level can stop this, but people have gone absolutely wacky for ingroup and apocalyptic thinking and the lie "everyones doing this" has been really pushed hard as a thought stopper.
they are lying more and more to courts, they immediately move people out of state at great expense to prevent lawyers from access
we only know of the warehouse prisons they gave up on, there are likely many moving forward or already exist in secret buried inside military bases without press or congressional access
if the Dems don't win the Senate the country is done, House is not enough, House will just be a dog-and-pony show since they have no enforcement powers
"daddy what did you do during the erosion of our democracy?"
"we shard some white hot memes with several like minded friends"
Voting: "When you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election" - Trump [0]
The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which Trump has been throwing fits about Congress not passing [1]
Memes: Admittedly, this one's far looser, as it's local law enforcement doing the arrest, not the federal government, but "Tennessee man jailed over anti-Trump meme suing sheriff, county" [2] It would be interesting to see if the sheriff was contacted by federal law enforcement over the post.
This one's not as loose, as the federal government is trying to uncover the identity of a Reddit poster who has criticized ICE [3]
Jokes: Suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! after host's monologue [4]
Public meetings: National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 [5], though that links to a much larger collection of information on Trump's actions directed at civil society.
