IP-locating databases have mostly switched to showing the default location as being in the middle of a lake, so that people will know it's not a real house.
Holy cow, what a crazy story. Imagine being a small family, barely using the internet and not even knowing how to buy or assign IP addresses and suddenly you're in the middle of what sounds like a real-life horror story. Someone needs to make a movie about this :O
