Ask HN: Why not a utility to save your Mac from a software bug killing your SSD? As you may know, MacBooks are expensive and an SSD killed by excessive writes due to software bug(s) requires a complete motherboard replacement. So why not have a utility that would warn you when an app is writing too much? Maybe you could specify a threshold for the warning. Would you use a utility like this to give you peace of mind, especially with MacBooks? |
