This is an experiment based on an idea I had recently: If you wanted to seed a new world with a species do you really need to carry a large archive? Or could a tiny founding population carry a temporary mechanism that generates population-level genetic diversity during the first few generations, then shuts itself off? I think this could be plausible for a sufficiently advanced civilization, so I started trying to model the population-genetics side of it. What do you think? Like the idea? |
