What have I done with it? Nothing. What do I plan to do with it? Nothing yet either! Do I still want to get a domain that was registered earlier than 1992 just because it's cool? You know it!
(Un)fortunately most of the super cool ones are way outside of what I budget for my "cool things to have (that don't take up any physical space)" spend.
It feels like progress, but doesn’t make a project/product better or even make it more likely to work…the only advantage it has is being easier than useful work.

It worked for yahoo, it works for me. I have a couple more domains for things where it makes sense, but [descriptive word].[my usual domain] works for most things and [descriptive word].[my old domain] works as a test area when I think my 0 users might be inconvenienced if I test in production.
Anyway, if you buy my whatever project, I'll NS or CNAME the subdomain to wherever you want, plus forward email for whatever@thedomain to wherever you want. I recommend you buy a cool domain and do a redirect.
First 10 years included in the purchase price. Each additional year costs $1000/year inflation adjusted. 15 changes per year, $100/change after that. Obligation to follow domain ownership, purchaser has right of first refusal on selling the whole domain or to claim it before it's let expire. I'm willing to use a high value registrar for the domain to help insure continuity, if requested, but the costs + margin will be borne by the purchaser.
Worst case, pay me more, give me mail forwarding for my important email addresses and I'll move the rest of my junk so you can have my whole domain. :P
